Network Video Recorder (NVR) systems are now widely used in surveillance and security applications, such as building/factory security or rolling stock video performance. Data storage is a key limitation for NVR systems, because video files take up a lot of space. Storage capacity, maintenance downtime, and overall system reliability are all major obstacles standing in the way of highly available NVR data storage systems.
